Angel Island Poems

The Angel Island poems were a similar outlook on the so-called "land of opportunity"known as America. People from all over tried to make a better life for themselves and their families but on their journey to happiness, they suffered lonliness, discomfort, & grief. We often see this in African and Native American writing and I thought it was refreshing to get a different point of view from another race even though their all quite similar.
