Defining Racism

It seems that other races and cultures unconsciously reinforce negative stereotypes about other cultures in which they know close to nothing about. In Defining Racism Tatum shows the ignorant thinking most have about foreign cultures. Many people I meet have this notion that cultures play into stereotypes portrayed in the media that most of the time aren’t true. My freshman year of college, a Caucasian fellow student told me a racist joke and didn’t see the offense in it then looked at me as if I was crazy to feel uncomfortable by. I found a video on youtube that puts this idea into visual perspective.
